LIFF SHORTS 2026
We love short films so much at LIFF that we have a whole programme section dedicated to them, with an extensive selection of hand-picked shorts from Yorkshire, across the UK, and around the world. LIFF SHORTS 2026 opens on 3 November with the Yorkshire Short Film Competition. From 4 to 7 November, we present 7 more competitions including the Louis le Prince International Short Film Competition, named after the Leeds artist and inventor who made the world’s first moving images in the city in 1888, and the World Animation Competition. The winning short films of the competitions are presented in the Award-Winners programme, first screening on 8 November, with repeats on 10 and 12 November.
LIFF SHORTS is sponsored by Stewarts.
