We're launching a brand new filmmaking project, where you can get creative from home!

The MONDAY MOVIE CHALLENGE is set every fortnight, and changes themes, special rules and new challenges every time.

For the first Monday Movie Challenge, we're inviting you to make a film about ANYTHING. It can be any style (animation, documentary, live-action), genre (comedy, horror, adventure) and have any story - just be creative and take us on a journey.

The rules are simple:

  • The film can't be longer than 60 seconds, so don't worry about adding credits
  • The main filmmaker must be under 18* (25 with additional needs)
  • The film must be shot inside
  • The film must, in some way, feature a piece of any fruit, in any way

Upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and send the link to us: gage.oxley@leeds.gov.uk (with the subject line: MONDAY MOVIE CHALLENGE) by Monday 6 April at 13:00 GMT. The winning film(s) will receive special prizes for the 21st Leeds Young Film Festival, and will be featured on our website.

Over the next week we'll be posting top tips on how to produce the best short film for our Monday Movie Challenge, and if you want any help, you can email real life filmmakers for specific advice here: gage.oxley@leeds.gov.uk

Good luck and have fun!
